Biographical/Historical Information
Rabbi Heimann Jolowicz was born in Köslin, Pomerania (Koszalin, Poland) in 1816. He received a doctorate from the University of Kiel and was active as a rabbi in Marienwerder, Prussia (Kwidzyn, Poland), Köslin, and in London, England. He retired early and settled in Königsberg (Kaliningrad), where he wrote several theological and historical texts, as well as literary criticism. Heimann Jolowicz died in 1875.
