Biographical/Historical Information

The author Lion Feuchtwanger (1884-1958) was a prominent figure in the literary world of Weimar Germany, where he excelled in historically based novels with a strong anti-fascist and cultural-Jewish message. He left Nazi Germany for France, where he was interned, and after a most difficult escape he found asylum in the United States, renewing his fame there with further writings. Lion Feuchtwanger died in Los Angeles, California.
