Biographical/Historical Information
Hindenburg appointed Hitler as Reich Chancellor on January 30, 1933, thereby handing over leadership of the strongest faction of the German government. This poster was one of the first published after the appointment, intending to transfer the peoples' sympathy for the "father figure" Hindenburg to Hitler. The message was no longer party propaganda but state sanctioned propaganda: two leader personalities standing above parliament and parties.
