    Poster is divided in two sides laterally. The 1918 side shows a man in a worker's outfit holding a tattered red flag; in the background are non functioning factory buildings and houses on fire, filling the sky with smoke. The 1928 side shows a man in Lederhosen holding a blue and white flag; in the background, the sun is shining, factory buildings are being productive, and a house is being built.

Biographical/Historical Information

The poster boasts of the economic stability brought by the republican German Reich in the mid to late 1920s and endorsed by the Bayerische Volkspartei. Two examples: In 1928, 1.2 billion Reichsmarks is spent on housing construction. And by 1928, the hourly wage for male skilled workers tops 96 Reichspfennigs, which then dropped to 78 Rpf by 1933.
