Biographical/Historical Information

The Reichstag, elected in July 1932, was dissolved in September and re-elected on November 6. The election campaign was nothing more than a distortion of democratic debate. Even the Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands (SPD) ran a corrupt campaign with personal attacks on their opponents, instead of political arguments. The poster's text makes reference to an incident that took place in 1932 at Potempa, an Upper Silesian village, wherein five storm trooper's brutally murdered a communist; Hitler sent a solidarity telegram to the murderers.
