Biographical/Historical Information

The poster functions as Social Democratic counter-propaganda to the agitation of the Völkischer Block under General Ludendorff's leadership. The message draws on widespread anti-war sentiment, that "Where Ludendorff stands, people are shot" - an allusion to the deadly Beer Hall Putsch of November 9, 1923.
