Biographical/Historical Information

Harriet (or Henriette) Lehman was born in Montgomery, AL on December 29, 1854. She is the daughter of Henry (Hayum) Lehman, one of the founders of the prominent Lehman Brothers banking firm. Harriet married Moses Weil in September 15, 1875 in New York, NY. She had four children: Blanche, Henry, Hannah, and Elsie. Harriet died in New York on December 21, 1925.

Victor David Hecht was born in Paris in 1873. He studied at the Art Student's League in New York and at the Académie Julian in Paris under Lefebvre and Robert-Fleury. During his life, he had exhibits across Europe and the United States. He died in New York in 1931.
