    Dark navy cap with yellow trim. One side of the hat has stitched upon it North Essex Post 146, J.W.V. The other side of the hat has stitched upon it the insignia of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States. There are five small ribbon bar pins on the hat.

Biographical/Historical Information

Henry Burton Gottfried, formerly Heinz Gottfried, was born in 1919 in Vienna, Austria, the son of Elsa and Jacob Gottfried. He immigrated to the United States in 1938 and served in the Army from 1941 to 1945. Henry Gottfried died in 2006.
