Biographical/Historical Information
Nahum (Naum) Sokolow (1859-1936) was a Hebrew scholar and active Zionist. He served repeatedly as president of the World Zionist Congress while residing in Warsaw and in London.
Leonid Osipovich Pasternak (1862-1945) was the son of a Jewish Orthodox family in the Ukraine. After academic studies in Moscow, he graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and became widely known as a successful impressionist painter.
