Biographical/Historical Information
Josef Kaiser (1891-1921) was one of ten children born to Arthur and Mathilde Kaiser. The Kaiser family lived in several towns in Germany, including Brilon, Hannover, and Wittenberge. Josef and several of his brothers served in World War I. Josef was imprisoned by the British in Cambrai, France from 1918-1920. Josef survived but died in 1921 because of injuries sustained during the war. Many of the surviving members of the Kaiser family died in the Holocaust.
