Biographical/Historical Information

Leland Bell – born in Cambridge, MD in 1922 - was a teacher and self-taught painter, married to the artist Louisa Matthíasdóttir (1917–2000). Bell started with abstract paintings, but he changed later in his career to a figurative style. He died in New York in 1991.
