    Bronze relief plaque that depicts the profile of L. L. Zamenhof, an elderly man with a glasses, beard, and bald head. The relief is set into a brown fabric covered board. There is a very small bronze plaque in the corner indicating that the plaque is from the Dresden chapter of the German Esperanto Association, dated 1926.

Biographical/Historical Information

Ludwig Lazarus Zamenhof (1859-1917) was a linguist and creator of Esperanto. Zamenhof was acquainted with the Arnhold family of the ‘Bankhaus Gebrueder Arnhold’ banking firm. Multiple members of the Arnhold family were involved in the promotion of Esperanto.
