Biographical/Historical Information

The Frick Collection in New York City is an art museum that is known for its Old Master paintings, European sculpture and decorative arts. The collection originated with Henry Clay Frick (1849–1919), who gave public access to his home and art collection. The institution’s holdings of works from the Renaissance up until the end of the nineteenth century has more than doubled in size since the museum opened in 1935.
