Biographical/Historical Information
Johann Ziegler was the artist of the print. Johann Ziegler (1749-1802) was a German and Austrian draughtsman and copperplate engraver. Ziegler contributed to a popular series of views of Vienna. The views were based on watercolor paintings, and were published by the Viennese firm of Artaria Verlag, remaining in print for nearly fifty years.
