Biographical/Historical Information

Eva Preminger was born in Germany in 1910 and emigrated to the United States escaping Nazi Germany. In her first marriage with Julius (Lyonel) Meyer, Eva lived in the Washington Heights neighborhood in New York City raising the couple’s two children, Leslie Earl Meyer (1941-1996) and Montague (Monty) Dennis (Denny) Meyer (1946-2021). In ca. 1958, Eva and Julius separated, and Eva moved with her two sons to Florida. In 1963, she married Litman Levinovich (1908-1970), and after his death in 1970, she married Jack Walkes (1905-2000) in 1973. Eva Walkes, née Preminger died in 1997.
