Departure at 5 a.m. to Lublin. Arrival in Lublin at 12 a.m. noon. The troops stay outside whereas the Commando is being accommodated in the City. The city is pretty, with metropolitan character and elegantly dressed ladies and little ladies. Remarkable faultless housing. We eat in the Hotel Viclarya very well and pretty cheap. But the drinks were extremely expensive. A small bottle of red wine costs 5 Crowns and whereas the whole lunch just was 3 Crowns though it was real French wine.
