Renate Evers has served as the Bruno and Suzanne Scheidt Director of Collections at the Leo Baeck Institute New York | Berlin (LBI) since 2016. She oversees LBI’s Archives, Art, and Library collections, supporting their care, growth, and accessibility for scholars and the public alike. Renate holds graduate degrees in Jewish Studies, library and information science, and information systems from Columbia University, Rutgers University, and German universities. She has worked across special collections, archives, and academic libraries, with a strong commitment to preserving and expanding access to both physical and digital collections. Her research interests center on German-Jewish history in the early modern period
