LBI in the Ambassador’s Residence: Creating Transatlantic Bridges

Visit 70 Years of LBI: Creating Transatlantic Bridges at the Residence of the German Ambassador in Washington, DC

Dates
Sat, May 10, 2025 – Thu, Jul 31, 2025
Venue
Residence of the German Ambassador in Washington, DC

After decades of collecting, preserving, and cataloging the stories of German-speaking Jews for scholars and families, Leo Baeck Institute is excited to share these narratives directly with a wider audience through exhibits, articles in local German newspapers, and a podcast series. While the examples we highlight are rooted in the Jewish history of Germany and Austria in the 1930s, their universal messages resonate with current global events.

In 2025, LBI marks its 70th anniversary. To celebrate this milestone in the Institute’s history, we will present an exhibit that showcases its impact through personal stories drawn from two of our recent projects: the Exile podcast and Stolpertexte.

You can visit the exhibition during the annual EU Open House on Saturday, May 10.
