John Rodker founded the Imago Publishing Co. in London in 1938 on the initiative of Sigmund Freud. since the Internationaler Psychoanalytischer Verlag where Freud had published many of his works was liquidated by the Nazis. Rodker, along with Barbara Low, Martin Freud, and Anna Freud, thus continued to publish psychoanalytic works in exile through this new publishing house. Rodker published the complete works of Sigmund Freud shortly before World War II.
