Sophia Gallagher has been with the Leo Baeck Institute since May 2025, first starting as an archival intern and currently working as a Library and Archival Assistant. In May 2026, she obtained a dual master's degree in Library Science and History with an Advanced Certificate in Archives at Queens College. She received her BA at New York University where she focused on history and critical theory. Along with her work at the Leo Baeck Institute, she has worked with the Queens Memory Project and Melting Metropolis on multiple oral history and environmental history projects. She previously worked for New York University on the BIG WALK annual walking tour as a digital archivist. In addition to her interests in German-Jewish history, German literature, and critical theory, she is interested in New York City history, urban design, and environmental history.
