Bequests to LBI

Through a bequest (specific, residuary and contingent gifts made by will or revocable trusts) you may direct a portion of your estate – typically a specific dollar amount, or a percentage – to LBI, creating a lasting legacy that sustains our work beyond any one generation. A bequest will be administered outside of the probate process and any gift amount will be considered a deductible against the taxable value of your estate, meaning that your gift can maximize both the financial well-being of your total estate, as well as your impact in preserving and promoting German Jewish history.

“I give, devise, and bequeath the Leo Baeck Institute, New York | Berlin, a nonprofit organization with the Federal Tax ID 13-5659965, located at the Center for Jewish History, 15 West 16th Street, New York, NY 10011, the sum of $_________ (or describe the real or personal property or portion of the estate) to be used for general purposes.”

Unless otherwise stated, bequests are revocable and can be changed at any time, up until the time that the gift is ultimately made.
